The Clegg Soil Tester is a lightweight apparatus approved in 1998 by the ASTM Committee for Natural and Synthetic Turf, just for this application. Measures your field for compaction and hardness to determine how safe your field is and to advise your grounds crew of when to aerate to relieve the compaction. The cost is $1,800 delivered. Net-Avator. For soil conditioning, we sell a machine called the Net-Avator that makes renovation of sports fields and landscape areas quick and easy. It can be attached to any size tractor of skid steer loader. Its tiller can grind up existing turf, bury any stones eight inches deep, incorporate Netlon mesh or soil additives and leave a field level and ready to seed or sod with only one pass. Netlon Advanced Turf. If you're planning to do a complete field renovation, install a new state of the art reinforced sand base sports field, or just need a product that you can blend directly into soil to control compaction and improve the soil's porosity, drainage and hardness, then check out our best selling product - Netlon Advanced Turf. We sell rolls of pre-cut, 2x4 inch pieces of polypropylene mesh that when blended with a soil, create a three dimensional interlocking system that will not compact or become hard or unsafe. The reinforced field can even be driven on by the heaviest vehicles without rutting the surface, even in the rain! Netlon mesh can be purchased one roll at a time at a cost of $392 per roll.
